Memories

I remember that we used to snap beans to can and that as we snapped we sang fun songs, like:
Cannabal King with a big nose ring, Fell in love with a lovely maiden, And every night by the pale moon light, Sounded like this to me-e-e, Arumph X X, Arumph X X, Arumph a do a day, Arumph X X, Arumph X X, Arumph a do a day.

Mom always had a way of making work seem fun. On Saturdays she would have us clean house and she would make a big pot of beans and rolls for dinner. It was like getting a big reward!

I know that I was my naughtiest when the folks went somewhere and left Bonnie in charge. I will have to apologize for being so mean when she was left in charge. Peggy and I just didn't want our sister bossing us. I know she didn't really like it either.

The most punished I ever felt was when dad & I would be working and I would have a disagreement with him. I would suggest something and he would ignore me, then I would speak up and he would tell me that I should not yell at him and then I would be sent to the house. It was really hard on me to be sent to the house.
